Stores & Inventory Controller (Storeman)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Storeman to manage the receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of materials and finished goods for a leading international technical manufacturing company. The role ensures stock accuracy, traceability and a well‑organised store environment.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders, checking quantities, item codes and condition.
• Pick, pack and prepare production and sales orders, issuing picking bins and kits.
• Maintain FIFO/FEFO rotation, monitor Kanban stock levels and report shortages.
• Prepare dispatch documentation, assist with loading and hand over to carriers.
• Keep shelving, labeling and bin locations organised and accurate.
• Conduct stock takes, cycle counts and verify stock locations.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material‑handling equipment where authorised.
• Support urgent production needs and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in stores, warehousing or a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read item codes, purchase orders and delivery notes accurately.
• Valid South African driver’s licence; forklift licence advantageous.
• Physically capable of routine material‑handling duties.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and safety awareness.

What we offer
