Stock Controller

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous Stock Controller to join our intimate five‑star boutique lodge on Cape Town’s Atlantic seaboard. The role sits at the centre of a busy hospitality operation, supporting the fine‑dining restaurant, bar and kitchen by ensuring accurate inventory and cost control.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular stock takes across kitchen, bar and storage areas.
• Manage ordering, receiving and supplier reconciliation.
• Maintain up‑to‑date stock records and generate reporting.
• Monitor par levels, flag shortages or overstocking and enforce FIFO rotation.
• Reconcile stock counts with invoices and delivery notes.
• Minimise wastage, breakages and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with chefs, bar managers and senior management on stock needs and cost control.
• Support month‑end stock reporting and cost‑percentage tracking.

Required profile

• Previous stock control experience in hospitality, restaurant or lodge environments.
• Strong numerical and administrative abilities with high attention to detail.
• Honesty and integrity when handling stock and financial records.
• Physical capability to lift and move goods as required.
• Ability to work closely with kitchen, bar and management teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with stock control systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
