Stewarding Attendant

About the role

The Stewarding Attendant supports the hotel’s housekeeping and food‑service operations by performing routine and special cleaning tasks to the highest standards. Working in a vibrant waterfront property, you will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals in line with health‑and‑safety regulations and hotel policies.
• Set up and organise the work station with required supplies; report any shortages.
• Inspect and maintain the condition of cleaning equipment and machinery, reporting deficiencies.
• Clean equipment, sinks, service areas, walls, floors, kitchen, cafeteria, dumpster and compactor zones following departmental procedures.
• Inspect cleaned items for compliance; store them correctly.
• Handle wares carefully to avoid breakage or loss.
• Monitor chemical usage to optimise consumption.
• Maintain cleanliness of garbage disposals, grease traps and work areas throughout the shift.
• Stock kitchen lines, restaurant service areas and buffet stations with cleaned wares and utensils.
• Respond promptly to spills and use designated tools (brooms, mops, floor stripper, buffer) for floor care.
• Keep supply closets tidy, remove trash, wipe surfaces and organise items.
• Transport garbage containers to dumpsters, empty and clean them.

Required profile

• Ability to follow hotel specifications, standards and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Attention to detail when inspecting cleanliness and equipment condition.
• Physical capability to perform cleaning tasks and handle equipment safely.

Required skills

• Operation of cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, dishwashers).
• Proper handling and application of cleaning chemicals.
• Knowledge of sanitation and hygiene procedures in hospitality settings.
