Sourcing Specialist – Procurement (RFI/RFQ/RFP)

About the role

The Sourcing Specialist will lead the planning and execution of e‑sourcing events (RFI, RFQ, RFP) for assigned commodities, ensuring cost savings and supply‑risk mitigation. You will work closely with the Category/Commodity Manager and internal stakeholders to secure a reliable supply of materials and services that meet operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and run e‑sourcing events, managing the full RFI/RFQ/RFP lifecycle.
• Analyse commodity spend, market data and cost models to support sourcing decisions.
• Develop and negotiate contracts, collaborating with the legal team to draft service and delivery agreements.
• Maintain supply‑risk registers and monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs.
• Provide budget inputs, quarterly cost forecasts and zero‑based budgeting (ZBB) data to commodity managers.
• Support new product development (NPD) projects by defining procurement requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing sites to resolve supply issues and ensure continuous material flow.
• Manage a procurement spend of approximately R400 m–R500 m.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or sourcing.
• Diploma in Procurement or a related field.
• Strong understanding of commodity characteristics and supply‑chain dynamics.
• Experience with category analysis, negotiation and contract management.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Working knowledge of Oracle procurement systems.
