Software Engineering Manager

About the role

Lead Forensics is expanding its engineering hub in Cape Town and is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a section of its customer‑facing SaaS products. The role will be fully remote until the hub opens in Q3 2027, after which the manager will work on‑site at least one day per week.

Key responsibilities

• Set, monitor, and evaluate performance metrics for developers, ensuring productivity and quality targets are met.
• Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and career development support to team members.
• Own the quality and maintainability of the codebase, driving best practices and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver features efficiently and at scale.
• Implement and refine performance‑management processes and engineering standards.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a fast‑moving SaaS environment with a strong focus on clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
• Proven track record of monitoring engineering performance and driving continuous improvement.
• Hands‑on background as a software engineer with mature DevOps practices.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies and tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
