Software Engineer – Python/Django (Hybrid)

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level Software Engineer with strong Python and Django expertise to design, develop and maintain high‑quality web applications for our fast‑growing internet provider. The role is hybrid, allowing you to collaborate with business units both on‑site in Cape Town and remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Work with various business units to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python code using the Django framework.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and software bugs.
• Collaborate with front‑end teams using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Vue.js.
• Participate in agile processes, using Git, JIRA and Confluence for version control and task tracking.
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud.
• Utilise containerisation tools like Docker and Kubernetes for scalable deployments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience with Python and Django.
• Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
