Software Engineer (Low Code / No Code) - 6 Month Contract

About the role

A leading financial services organization, represented by its client, is looking for an experienced Low Code / No Code Software Engineer for a 6-month contract in Johannesburg. You will join a multi-disciplinary technology team and work closely with business stakeholders, software vendors and partners, taking part in every stage of delivery from design through to testing and implementation. Your initial focus will be corporate domain applications built on low code / no code platforms, covering risk and compliance, sales and servicing.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business, systems and workflow processes to deliver efficient low code solutions
• Work with form builders, pre-built templates, drag-and-drop visual interfaces and entity builders
• Help research and analyze internal business processes so they can be optimized and automated
• Test code and design with unit tests so configured outcomes match business rules and layout specs
• Maintain technical documentation, developer references and knowledge-sharing materials
• Triage and resolve support incidents, performing root-cause analysis
• Build a good understanding of the corporate domain applications
• Collaborate with the product owner and team to build solutions aligned to enterprise strategy
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement and deploy changes

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience using low code / no code toolsets
• Solid experience with pre-built templates, drag-and-drop interfaces and entity builders
• Good grasp of programming concepts such as conditions and variables
• Good understanding of data structures and integrations (API and file-based)
• Good understanding of change control and governance
• Experience in an Agile framework supporting CI/CD processes
• Strong configuration skills with packaged designer tools
• Ability to explain complex solutions to less technical audiences

Required skills

• SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript

• Agile and CI/CD

Advantageous: a degree in Computer Science or a related field, low code certifications, experience with Salesforce, MS Dynamics or MS SharePoint, familiarity with Azure DevOps, Azure Boards or Jira, and insurance industry knowledge, preferably general insurance.
