Site Planner (12‑Month Contract) – Welkom, South Africa

About the role

Scatec is seeking a Site Planner to join its renewable‑energy projects in Welkom, South Africa. The role is a 12‑month contract focused on monitoring site activities, supporting project schedules and ensuring alignment with Scatec’s core processes and tools.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Project Planner in compiling the overall master project programme, integrating the standard Work Breakdown Structure and baseline.
• Review contractors’ planning packages, including baselines, programme memoranda, manpower and machinery histograms, and S‑curves.
• Track contractor submissions, verify data quality, and prepare daily graphical and numerical reports on work achieved and equipment deliveries.
• Coordinate schedules from multiple contractors, update the master schedule, and perform histogram analysis on a bi‑weekly/monthly basis.
• Maintain the construction KPI dashboard, identify critical milestones, and monitor daily site activities for deviations.
• Communicate weekly activity plans to the team, analyse gaps between planned and actual progress, and support the preparation of progress reports, critical path analysis, and extension‑of‑time claims.

Required profile

• Formal technical qualification in construction, engineering or project management.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for procurement and construction projects.
• Strong understanding of multicultural work environments.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
