Silo Manager

About the role

Senwes Grainlink is recruiting a Silo Manager to manage the handling and storage of grain so that product quality is maintained and sustainable financial results are achieved. The position is based in the Grain Industry department at Misgunst Bunker and is a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the handling and storage of grain and optimise grain handling and storage operations.
• Liaise with clients and maintain effective client relationships.
• Grow market share within the grain industry.
• Manage the silo in line with the departmental business plan.
• Manage and develop staff.
• Compile, monitor and manage the silo budget.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate.
• Relevant grain grading and fumigation courses.
• Certificate in Management/Leadership.
• 3-5 years' experience in the grain industry.
• Knowledge of crop estimates, testing and grading of grain, fumigation and aeration.
• Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SAP.
