Assistant Silo Manager

About the role

Senwes Grainlink is recruiting an Assistant Silo Manager for its De Brug Silo. The post is responsible for the handling and storage of grain so that a quality product is delivered and sustainable financial results are achieved. It is a permanent position with market-related pay.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the intake, storage and dispatch of grain.
• Grade grain according to statutory requirements.
• Ensure correct offloading and quality of grain.
• Oversee loading of grain and the sample-taking process.
• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Give input into the planning and allocation of storage capacity based on crop estimates.
• Coordinate the pre-cleaning, drying, aeration and fumigation of grain.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Required profile

• National Senior Certificate.
• Relevant grain grading and fumigation courses.
• Certificate in Management/Leadership.
• 3 years' experience in the grain industry.
• Experience with crop estimates, testing and grading of grain, fumigation and aeration.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SAP.
