Siding Operator – Chemical Reagents

About the role

The Siding Operator is responsible for the safe off‑loading of chemical reagents used in various production processes at Valterra Platinum's Base Metal Refinery in Rustenburg. You will work closely with the Bulk Administrator to monitor tank levels, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain a clean and hazard‑free work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Safely handle and off‑load chemical reagents, verifying delivery notes and certificates of analysis.
• Follow bulk materials operating procedures to maximise operational efficiency.
• Operate plant equipment and vehicles responsibly, ensuring they remain in fit condition.
• Minimise and report any chemical spills or leaks.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping at the off‑loading bay.
• Comply with health, safety, environment and security regulations.
• Participate in team training sessions and meetings.

Required profile

• Grade 12/Matric with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
• At least 6 months experience handling hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
