Service Advisor – Workshop & Fleet Services

About the role

The Service Advisor will act as the main liaison between customers, workshop technicians, and parts departments in a busy automotive service centre. The role combines technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance with strong customer‑service skills to ensure efficient repair cycles.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers bringing vehicles for service, repair, or inspection.
• Open, manage, and update job cards for all service and repair work.
• Conduct initial vehicle assessments, record faults, and provide accurate repair estimates.
• Coordinate communication between customers, technicians, and parts departments to keep jobs on schedule.
• Monitor workshop progress, ensure timely completion, and maintain detailed service records.
• Process warranty claims and follow manufacturer service procedures.
• Follow up with customers on repair status and vehicle collection.
• Assist with workshop scheduling to maximise technician productivity.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Service Advisor in a light, medium or heavy motor‑vehicle workshop.
• Proven ability to work with diverse fleet and commercial vehicle clients.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities.
• Local residency or willingness to relocate to Richards Bay.
