SEO Account Manager (Remote)

About the role

A UK-based specialist digital agency is looking for a skilled relationship builder to step into a key account management role. The business serves a dedicated client base through ongoing SEO retainers, and the team delivers results that matter to its clients. This is a fully remote, independent contractor position based in South Africa, paid up to R40 000 per month, full time.

Key responsibilities

• Own the client relationship from regular check-ins to monthly performance reviews
• Work closely with the SEO team so each client gets what they need and understands it
• Act as the face of the campaign: explain the numbers in plain language to business owners and reassure them that their investment is in good hands

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in agency account management or client services
• At least 2 of those years managing SEO retainers specifically
• Ability to explain GA4, Search Console, rank tracking and local SEO performance to a business owner without jargon
• Confident leading regular client meetings, including the difficult ones
• Enough SEO knowledge to hold your own with clients and brief the SEO team precisely
• Personable, self-directed and comfortable owning a client relationship
• International client experience, ideally UK-based, is advantageous but not essential

• Rank tracking and local SEO
• Reporting and rank tracking tools (hands-on experience is a plus)
