Senior Wet Trades Foreman – Western Cape

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Senior Foreman to lead wet‑trade activities on residential construction sites in the Western Cape. The role involves overseeing brickwork, plastering, screeding and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Setting out using dumpy level, pipe level, or laser level.
• Installing brick gauge rod, string lines, and cavity batons according to SANS 10400‑K guidelines.
• Creating two‑week look‑ahead programmes, daily allocations and tracking output.
• Transferring levels from benchmarks to adjacent walls and between floors.
• Measuring level, square and plumbness of brickwork, plaster and screed with straight edge, spirit level and square.
• Performing progressive quality checks using approved checklists and reporting progress.
• Ordering and facilitating call‑off of construction materials in line with the programme.
• Maintaining a clean work area, enforcing PPE use and safety measures at all times.
• Ensuring latest drawings are available in hard or soft copy and escalating issues to senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years proven experience as a Wet Trade Foreman.
• Residence in the Western Cape.
• Solid experience in residential construction and wet‑trade finishing.
• Strong leadership and site supervision abilities.
• Ability to manage teams, timelines and quality standards.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and site safety.

Required skills

• Use of dumpy level, pipe level and laser level for setting out.
• Application of brick gauge rod, string lines and cavity batons per SANS 10400‑K.
• Measurement with straight edge, spirit level and square.
• Interpretation of construction drawings.
• Implementation of site safety procedures and PPE enforcement.

• Conducting quality checks using approved checklists.
