Senior US Tax Accountant

About the role

Join a dynamic, fully remote team as a Senior US Tax Accountant. You will manage complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns while supporting case managers and attorneys.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and file individual (1040), corporate (1120S), and partnership tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Analyze financial statements to identify tax‑saving opportunities and potential risks.
• Liaise with tax authorities and represent the company during audits.
• Stay current with tax regulations, rulings, and trends.
• Collaborate with legal and tax teams to gather information for filings.
• Provide insights and recommendations to management on tax matters.
• Report to the Case Manager and/or Attorney.

Required profile

• 7+ years of U.S. tax preparation experience.
• At least 1,000 individual (1040) returns filed.
• 400–600 business tax returns prepared.
• 200+ R&D credit filings completed.
• Minimum 3 years of U.S. tax accounting experience.
• Experience with individual, corporate, and partnership returns (1120S preferred).
• Experience handling internal and external tax audits.
• Knowledge of U.S. Federal and California tax regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, or similar certification preferred; Enrolled Agent a plus.
• Willingness to complete a client assessment including Forms 1040, 1120S, and an R&D credit filing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with TaxAct tax software.
