Senior Travel Consultant (Durban based)

About the role

The Senior Travel Consultant will be the operational anchor for our travel team, handling the most complex bookings and client issues. Based in Durban but operating from our Krugersdorp office, you will ensure service quality remains high under pressure.

Key responsibilities

• Own and resolve high‑risk escalations, service failures and urgent travel disruptions without passing them upward.
• Review high‑risk bookings, identify error patterns and enforce quality standards across the team.
• Engage directly with clients on complex matters, manage expectations and rebuild confidence.
• Coordinate with Finance on billing issues and with Key Account Managers on client escalations.
• Coach junior and intermediate consultants, driving overall team capability.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a travel consultant, with proven senior‑level handling of complex requests.
• Matriculation plus a Travel and Tourism qualification (NQF Level 5 or higher).
• Strong judgment, independence and a customer‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Global Distribution Systems, preferably Travelport.
• Excellent problem‑solving and escalation management abilities.
