Senior Technical Specialist – IBM Content Services Platforms

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Specialist to join our technology team in Cape Town. You will own the implementation, administration and optimisation of IBM Content Services platforms across development, test, pre‑production and production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain IBM Content Services environments, including upgrades and lifecycle management.
• Administer Linux server infrastructure on‑premise and in the cloud, monitoring performance and ensuring high availability.
• Support SQL Server and IBM DB2/UDB databases, managing capacity, storage and data growth.
• Implement security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with organisational standards.
• Configure IBM Content Manager, Content Manager OnDemand, Content Navigator and Aspera, and develop scripts and automation for integration.
• Maintain monitoring and alerting solutions, perform health checks, performance tuning and advanced troubleshooting.
• Document technical procedures and maintain knowledge repositories.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in senior technical or enterprise systems support roles.
• Hands‑on experience with Linux server administration and IBM Content Services platforms.
• Experience with SQL Server, IBM DB2/UDB and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
