Senior Specialist: Property Valuations

About the role

The City of Ekurhuleni is recruiting a Senior Specialist for property valuations. The role covers compiling the valuation roll under the Municipal Property Rates Act, managing valuation staff and ensuring compliance with legislation and financial rules.

Key responsibilities

• Compile the valuation roll for implementation in terms of the Municipal Property Rates Act Amendment 6 of 2004
• Communicate, control, train and develop valuation personnel so they comply with legislation stipulated by COGTA and MPRAA
• Advise on strategy and leadership to meet divisional and sectional goals
• Carry out operational processes so work is delivered within agreed deadlines and standards
• Ensure governance and risk management to comply with legislation and minimise risk
• Perform financial processes in line with financial legislation including the MFMA
• Provide customer service to maintain client satisfaction

Required profile

• National Diploma in Property Valuation, Real Estate or Property Studies, or a relevant equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
• Registration as a Professional Associated Valuer or Professional Valuer with SACPVP
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a property valuation environment
