Senior Software Engineer – C#/.NET, TypeScript, React

About the role

An established South African enterprise software business serving international customers is recruiting a Senior Software Engineer to join its engineering team. You will help build and evolve an enterprise integration and automation platform, working on a C#/.NET backend and a TypeScript/React web application depending on your strengths and project needs. The role is permanent and hybrid, based in Somerset West, Western Cape, with a salary of R60,000 to R140,000 CTC per month.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain platform capabilities with C#/.NET and/or TypeScript and React.
• Develop workflow runtime capabilities, working with YAML workflow definitions and .NET assemblies.
• Build streaming connectors and data-processing components for large datasets, and solve memory management, async processing, concurrency and failure-recovery challenges.
• Improve visual workflow and developer tooling, including SVG-based interactions.
• Maintain Azure integrations (Key Vault, Storage), authentication (OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0) and GitHub integrations.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and Terraform-managed infrastructure, and write automated tests and code reviews.
• Investigate complex production issues and root causes.

Required profile

• Substantial professional software development experience delivering and supporting complex production software at a senior level.
• Deep expertise in at least one of C#/.NET or TypeScript/JavaScript/React.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Comfortable debugging complex codebases and making engineering trade-offs.

Required skills

• Backend: C#/.NET, APIs, async programming, concurrency, SQL, data processing, performance and memory management.
• Frontend: TypeScript, JavaScript, React, application state, browser behaviour, UI architecture.
• Advantageous: iPaaS, workflow engines, Azure, Terraform, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, GitHub, SVG diagramming, SQL, automated testing and code review.
