Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join a globally distributed team that powers one of the world’s most widely used knowledge platforms. The role is fully remote and focuses on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of large‑scale public‑facing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain large‑scale infrastructure, handling deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Manage and optimise configuration and deployment pipelines using tools such as Puppet and Kubernetes.
• Automate provisioning, service deployment, and operational workflows to boost reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design scalable architectures that handle global traffic.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation, respond to incidents, and conduct post‑incident reviews.
• Perform root‑cause analysis of production incidents and implement preventive measures.
• Contribute to monitoring, observability, and performance‑optimisation initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and share operational expertise across a distributed, cross‑functional team.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure operations within complex distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Linux systems administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, Go, Ruby) for automation.
• Proven track record of automating operational processes and improving system reliability.
• Experience participating in incident response, post‑mortems, and reliability engineering practices.
