Senior Restaurant Manager

About the role

A successful, growing brand is seeking a Senior Restaurant Manager to lead a 300‑seat restaurant in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have senior management experience in a large retail food environment such as Checkers or Woolworths, or from a reputable restaurant brand with a minimum capacity of 180 seats.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all front‑of‑house (FOH) operations and ensure high standards of service.
• Manage a 50‑hour work week, coordinating staff schedules to provide regular weekend offs.
• Maintain compliance with full reference checks and criminal background verification.
• Ensure the restaurant meets performance incentives to earn additional weekend days off.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years experience in front‑of‑house management.
• Proven senior management background in a large retail food store or a reputable restaurant with at least 180‑seat capacity.
• Ability to handle a 300‑seat venue without prior experience in small pubs or fast‑food outlets.
• Strong commitment to sobriety and stable employment history (no frequent job hopping).
• Fluency in Afrikaans is a significant advantage.
