Senior Project Manager – Agile Scrum Master

About the role

We are looking for a senior project manager who will also act as an Agile Scrum Master to lead the delivery of a strategic credit transformation programme across broader Africa. The role focuses on building a modern, digital credit workflow platform, streamlining lending processes and enabling data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of project initiatives within the credit transformation programme.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, resource allocations and delivery road‑maps.
• Manage scope, timelines, budgets, risks, assumptions, dependencies and deliverables.
• Ensure alignment with business strategy and programme objectives while adhering to PMO standards and governance.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑up, Sprint Review, Retrospective, Backlog Refinement) and drive sprint execution against Minimum Viable Products.
• Conduct Program Increment (PI) planning and Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Coach and mentor delivery teams on Agile best practices.
• Partner with Product Owners and Product Managers to refine and prioritize epics, features and user stories.
• Build trusted relationships with business clusters, technology teams and executive stakeholders, managing expectations and removing blockers.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and cross‑functional dependencies.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in project management and Agile Scrum within the credit or financial services domain.
• Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive delivery in multi‑country programmes.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on results.
