Senior Professional Nurse – Occupational Health

About the role

The Senior Professional Nurse – Occupational Health provides high‑quality nursing care focused on occupational health, ensuring the physical, psychological and social well‑being of employees. The role also supervises nursing staff and contributes to a safe, healthy workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily occupational health activities to meet deadlines.
• Conduct pre‑placement, transfer and exit medical examinations following established protocols.
• Establish baseline health status and assess fitness for duty.
• Perform periodic health surveillance and screenings to detect early signs of occupational disease.
• Identify affected employees, arrange early interventions and referrals.
• Report and assist in managing injuries on duty and occupational diseases.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide health assessments, guidance and support to line management.
• Contribute to incident investigations and root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Qualified professional nurse with experience in occupational health.
• Proven ability to supervise nursing staff.
• Strong understanding of medical surveillance processes and occupational health regulations.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to management.
