Senior Operations Engineer (D4)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Operations Engineer (D4) to lead engineering operations at our Pretoria site. The role is responsible for maintaining safe, healthy work environments while ensuring equipment reliability and production efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily engineering operations and ensure adherence to production schedules.
• Implement best‑practice engineering processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain zero‑harm standards by complying with SHEQ regulations and legal requirements.
• Manage equipment maintenance and availability to meet production targets.
• Deliver projects that support future growth and production goals.
• Apply effective financial management and budgeting for engineering activities.
• Lead a team of 200‑400 staff, fostering development and inclusive people‑management practices.
• Conduct design checks and specifications on equipment, emphasizing quality and safety.

Required profile

• Grade 12/STD 10/NQF Level 4 (essential).
• B Eng. diploma or degree (essential).
• Government Certificate of Competency – Mines & Works (essential).
• 2‑4 years of operational experience in a mining environment (essential).
• 2‑3 years of project‑management experience (desirable).
• Valid medical certificate or fitness to obtain one.
