Senior .Net Engineer – Banking Solutions

About the role

Our client, a leading banking institution, is seeking a Senior .Net Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance, scalable backend solutions. You will work onsite in Johannesburg, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to build secure, cloud‑native applications.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop enterprise‑grade applications using C# and .Net Core with a focus on modularity and maintainability.
• Design and implement microservices, ensuring proper decoupling, data management, and asynchronous communication.
• Integrate internal and external systems, including banking APIs and authentication services, while maintaining security and compliance.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for fast, automated deployments.
• Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and QA engineers to refine user stories and deliver quality solutions on schedule.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests with NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest.
• Monitor, profile, and optimise application performance, resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven experience in cloud‑based application architecture, preferably Azure.
• Demonstrated capability to lead and mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent communication skills within cross‑functional teams.
• Passion for clean code, automated testing, and DevOps culture.
