Senior Material Planner

About the role

Alstom is looking for a full‑time Senior Material Planner to join its Boksburg team. You will be responsible for ensuring that materials are delivered on time, in the right quantity, and to the correct location to support Alstom’s rail projects. The role works closely with industrial planning, logistics, procurement, quality and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Apply core model processes for material planning and master data management.
• Communicate delivery requirements to suppliers and follow up on confirmations.
• Guarantee material availability for Alstom projects and manage supplier performance KPIs.
• Collaborate with procurement to assess supplier risk and impact.
• Analyse MRP exception messages, anticipate supply challenges and support recovery actions.
• Maintain accurate master data and monitor raw‑material coverage.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain.
• Experience with ERP systems and supply‑chain concepts.
• Knowledge of material‑planning techniques and supplier delivery performance management.
• Familiarity with inventory management and industrial scheduling.
• Supply Chain or Project Management certification is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of local language is an advantage.
