About the role

This senior position focuses on taking machine learning models from notebooks to production at scale within a leading South African FinTech company. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week in the Cape Town office.

Key responsibilities

Design and build production‑ready ML systems with high throughput and low latency.
Develop real‑time, event‑driven data pipelines and model serving infrastructure.
Implement cloud‑native, containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
Automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and MLOps tooling.
Ensure observability, monitoring, and reliability of ML services.

Required profile

Strong experience productionising machine learning systems, not just model development.
Hands‑on expertise with Python and SQL.
Background in building robust, scalable software for ML workloads.
Interest in FinTech and applying ML to financial problems.
