Senior Librarian – Mimosa Library

About the role

The Senior Librarian will coordinate the operations of the Mimosa Library, ensuring that library services meet customer objectives, manage the acquisition and organization of information, and create a learning‑friendly environment through displays, signage and user support.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and control personnel performance, productivity and discipline.
• Execute procedural applications related to acquisition, organization and communication of information.
• Promote reader awareness and interest, providing information to library users.
• Liaise with relevant institutions, persons and stakeholders.
• Manage administrative and reporting requirements linked to key performance indicators.
• Prepare informal and formal reports and perform any other duties as instructed by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management or equivalent 4‑year post‑matric qualification.
• Computer literacy and membership of LIASA.
• 3–5 years of relevant library experience, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Good sight, hearing and speech ability with capacity to perform manual operations.
