About the role
The School of Medicine at the University of KwaZulu‑Natal is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology to join the Discipline of Public Health. The successful candidate will develop and deliver epidemiology teaching, lead research activities and contribute to a multidisciplinary public‑health team.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate epidemiology courses.
- Conduct and supervise research projects within the public‑health discipline.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to postgraduate students.
- Participate in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Engage in curriculum development for public health programmes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Epidemiology or a related field.
- PhD in Epidemiology or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching epidemiology.
- Record of publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to the university’s employment equity objectives.
