Senior Inbound Consultant – Durban

About the role

The Senior Inbound Consultant will advise clients on Southern African travel products and services, creating itineraries that meet expectations while ensuring profitable sales and accurate logistics. The role requires clear, prompt and courteous communication with agents and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret client specifications and propose suitable travel itineraries and costings.
• Maintain high‑standard service and communication with customers, suppliers and team members.
• Manage travel files, providing accurate costings, confirmations and documentation within deadlines.
• Make reservations in Tourplan, adhering to supplier booking, invoicing and cancellation conditions.
• Issue final itineraries and travel documents, performing a quality check with the Operations team.
• Invoice bookings accurately and on time to ensure correct client statements.
• Control costs and avoid errors to preserve positive booking profitability.
• Continuously develop product and system knowledge, sharing expertise with colleagues and new starters.
• Assist in resolving problem files when required.

Required profile

• Matric (NQF Level 5) or equivalent.
• Travel and Tourism Diploma (NQF Level 6).
• Minimum 8 years inbound travel experience.
• Experience with travel reservation systems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Hands‑on experience with Tourplan.
• Financial acumen – ability to handle debits, credits and invoicing.
• Advanced knowledge of Southern African travel products.
• Understanding of travel, tourism and hospitality procedures.
