Senior HR Officer

About the role

The Senior HR Officer will support the HR Manager at I&J’s primary processing site in Woodstock, Cape Town. This role is central to maintaining efficient HR administration, ensuring compliance, and providing expert advice to managers and employees across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate payroll workflows, including new hires, terminations and employee changes, and resolve any variances.
• Manage leave administration, overtime, allowances and maintain accurate HR records.
• Prepare employment contracts, letters and other documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HR policies, legislation and support internal and external audits.
• Produce HR reports and analytics for management and statutory bodies.
• Advise on employee relations matters, handle performance, discipline, grievances and represent the company at the CCMA.
• Support performance management processes, job grading, salary benchmarking and recruitment activities.
• Oversee onboarding, induction and talent development initiatives, aligning with BBBEE targets.
• Administer annual salary increases, bonuses and head‑count budgeting in collaboration with payroll.

Required profile

• Proven experience in HR administration and payroll coordination.
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and CCMA processes.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate HR policies clearly and build constructive employee relations.
