Senior HC Officer

About the role

The Senior HC Officer provides comprehensive human‑capital support to the Corporate Head Office division. This role balances strategic HR initiatives with day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth recruitment, payroll, employee relations and compliance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle recruitment: job profiling, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing and onboarding.
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee‑relations matters.
• Maintain accurate employee records, update HRIS data and ensure compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA).
• Support payroll input processes and benefits administration, guaranteeing timely and accurate transactions.
• Assist in developing and implementing Employment Equity plans, maintain registers and prepare statutory reports.
• Produce regular HR metrics and reports on headcount, turnover, absenteeism and training for management review.
• Provide ad‑hoc HR support to the Senior HR Manager and the Group‑level HR team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or a related field (post‑graduate qualification advantageous).
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar HR role.
• Strong knowledge of relevant labour legislation and HR policies.
• Exceptional attention to detail, logical problem‑solving and high integrity when handling confidential data.
• Excellent time‑management, communication and collaborative skills.
