Senior Fund Administrator

About the role

SS&C Financial Services is looking for a Senior Fund Administrator in Bellville, South Africa. The role covers data management, securities administration, fund administration support, compliance and risk management, and process improvement within the fund administration function.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update investment data accurately, reconcile data regularly and comply with data governance and data protection standards.
• Manage domestic and foreign securities, including trades, settlements, corporate actions and related activities.
• Handle valuations and reporting of investment portfolios, and liaise with custodians, brokers and other counterparties to resolve trade and settlement issues.
• Support processing of fund contributions and redemptions, and help prepare reports for clients, management and regulators.
• Follow regulatory and compliance requirements and mitigate risks in data and securities handling.
• Identify improvements to fund administration efficiency and accuracy, and take part in automation and streamlining projects.
• Work with compliance and operations teams, service level suppliers and external vendors, and share knowledge with colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• A post-graduate qualification or professional certification such as CFA, CAIA or CISI is advantageous.
• 1-3 years of related experience, including investment administration, fund accounting, asset management or a similar financial services role.
• Good knowledge of financial markets and financial instruments; good knowledge of HiPortfolio is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with data management systems, trade settlements and securities processing.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Ability to analyse complex financial data, pay close attention to detail, manage time and communicate clearly.
• Proficiency with accounting software and platforms, and a strong understanding of investment products, fund structures and accounting principles.
