Senior Fullstack Developer

About the role

Planet Fitness is expanding its Digital Technology and Transformation Team and needs a Senior Fullstack Developer to own end‑to‑end delivery of the Planet Fitness App and Gym Management System. You will lead a small development team, write production‑grade code, and ensure secure, scalable releases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentor front‑end and intermediate developers.
• Contribute daily to the codebase using Flutter UI, Java (Spring or equivalent), PHP frameworks, and PostgreSQL.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and manage zero‑downtime deployments.
• Define coding standards, branching strategies, code‑review processes and security best practices.
• Plan for horizontal scaling, database sharding/replication and implement monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Act as the primary liaison between Product Management, UX/UI, Operations and external partners, delivering status reports and road‑maps.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, including at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven full‑stack expertise with Flutter, Java, PHP and PostgreSQL.
• Hands‑on experience with FastAPI, Firebase, Docker, Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Strong track record of delivering secure, scalable systems in Agile environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
