Senior Full Stack Engineer (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

Our client, a technology company focused on payments solutions for African businesses, is looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer. You will design, develop, and maintain robust back‑end and front‑end applications that handle large financial data sets with high performance, accuracy, and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, design and implement scalable, efficient, and reliable platform solutions.
• Drive product innovation by translating product vision into technical implementations.
• Tackle complex technical challenges and improve system performance.
• Collaborate on platform architecture optimisation and seamless integration with external systems.
• Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and ensure high code quality.
• Provide system support and work closely with cross‑functional teams to assist merchants and customers.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a full‑stack engineer.
• Strong programming background in at least one major language (JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C++, C#, Python).
• Experience building large, distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency with SQL databases and writing solid unit/integration tests.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote/hybrid environment.
• Ownership mindset and passion for building products that empower African businesses.
