Senior FPGA Designer (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays)

About the role

The client is a fast‑growing R&D house in the UAE defence and security sector, seeking a Senior FPGA Designer to lead the development and testing of complex VHDL/Verilog projects for advanced RF and software‑defined radio solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, simulate, code and verify FPGA‑based digital signal processing algorithms using VHDL/Verilog.
• Participate in hardware architecture design and early trade‑off studies with evaluation boards.
• Perform timing and area optimisations, hardware bring‑up and troubleshooting.
• Design and verify SDR projects involving JESD204B/C, 10G/100G Ethernet, FFT, DDC/DUC, filtering and signal generators.
• Work with RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers.
• Create automated test suites for SDR devices.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or higher in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in FPGA design and verification.
• Proven track record with VHDL or Verilog programming.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
