Senior Financial Officer

About the role

The Senior Financial Officer will produce, assess, and report reliable financial and non‑financial data that supports business decision‑making and aligns with Nedbank’s strategic objectives. The role is based in Johannesburg and works closely with regional and executive stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse the monthly flash report, comparing results against budgets and prior periods.
• Deliver variance analysis commentary and formal financial interpretation to stakeholders.
• Compile ad‑hoc reports from multiple data sources and adjust reporting for business changes.
• Project annual personnel costs and manage headcount reporting.
• Track and report actual spend versus budget for footprint roll‑out initiatives.
• Execute the financial planning process, including annual budgets, three‑year plans and quarterly forecasts.
• Create and present the monthly Opcom pack for Quarterly Business Reviews.
• Ensure compliance with policies for branch administration, training, marketing, and donations.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or National 1st Degree, preferably a BCom Honours in Accounting.
• 3–5 years of financial management experience, ideally within the financial services sector.
• Proven ability to engage with senior management (Manco level) and deliver clear financial insights.

• Advanced Excel for complex data analysis.
• Power BI for visual reporting.
• SAP and SAP Fieldglass for financial transactions.
• Hana budgeting tool for budget preparation.
• Microsoft PowerPoint for presentation of financial results.
