Senior Finance Manager - Motor Dealership Group

About the role

A motor dealer client is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented Senior Finance Manager to join its dealership group in Edenvale. The role covers the overall financial management of the company, with direction, management and leadership of accounting, business planning and budgeting, and timely financial reports for all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full financial function across dealerships
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and internal controls
• Oversee creditors, debtors, general ledger and asset management
• Monitor vehicle margins, sales performance, incentives, rebates and stock ageing
• Work with Sales and Operations to improve dealership profitability
• Provide commercial financial analysis and recommendations to senior management, and challenge and support management on financial performance and cost control
• Reconcile manufacturer accounts and ensure accurate OEM reporting
• Manage month-end and year-end processes and lead, mentor and develop the finance team

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Financial Manager or Senior Financial Manager
• At least 5 years in motor dealership roles (essential)
• Experience working with Dealer Principals, Sales Managers and senior management
• Proven experience managing and developing a finance team of at least 5 staff
• Multi-dealership experience is an advantage
• Proficiency in English and Afrikaans, and a valid driver's licence
• Preferably based in the East Rand or close to the dealership

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of dealership accounting systems (EVOLVE) and financial controls
• Ability to analyse sales performance, gross profit, margins, stock ageing and departmental results
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Analytical, leadership and problem-solving skills, able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
