Senior Finance Manager

About the role

A market‑leading organisation is looking for a commercially driven Head of Finance to partner directly with the Managing Director and help drive financial and operational performance across 10 branches. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll go beyond the numbers, using financial insight to identify opportunities, improve margins, strengthen cash flow, challenge performance, and support smarter business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the finance function across 10 branches.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, consolidated reporting, and variance analysis.
• Deliver weekly dashboards and clear financial insights to the Managing Director.
• Drive profitability through analysis of revenue, margins, productivity, WIP, collections, labour recovery, and branch performance.
• Own cash‑flow forecasting, working capital, budgets, and rolling forecasts.
• Identify margin leakage, cost‑saving opportunities, and process improvements.
• Strengthen financial controls across cash, banking, creditors, debtors, payroll, and stock.
• Support strategic decisions through financial modelling, business cases, and commercial recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, audit, POPIA, banking, and company requirements.
• Partner with branch and operational teams to improve financial and commercial performance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Strong management accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow experience.
• Proven experience managing finance across a multi‑branch or multi‑site environment.
• Advanced Excel, ERP, reporting, dashboarding, and financial analysis skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and confidence to challenge and influence operational teams.
• Experience in automotive, manufacturing, retail, or FMCG is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• A hands‑on, analytical approach with a strong focus on results.
