Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote, South Africa)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate production‑grade cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines. The role is fully remote and open to candidates who already have the legal right to work in South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain Kubernetes clusters on cloud and hybrid environments.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code pipelines using Terraform.
• Automate and secure workloads in Azure, AWS or both, including Helm deployments.
• Implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Alloy and Tempo.
• Support database orchestration for PostgreSQL, Apache Pinot and Cassandra.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline CI/CD processes, using GitLab pipelines.
• Troubleshoot complex operational issues and enforce cloud security best practices.
• Mentor junior DevOps team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud or Platform Engineering.
• Strong background in Linux system administration.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating Kubernetes clusters.
• Deep knowledge of either AWS or Azure core services and secure networking.
• Proficiency in scripting with Bash, Python or PowerShell.
