Senior Boilermaker

About the role

Afrimat Industries is looking for an experienced Senior Boilermaker to join its team in Lichtenburg. The role involves fabrication, welding, and structural repairs on fixed plant equipment and infrastructure, supporting safe and reliable operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fabrication, welding, cutting, and structural repair work on fixed plant equipment and infrastructure.
• Manufacture, repair, and modify chutes, hoppers, bins, guards, supports, platforms, and other structural components.
• Apply welding techniques (arc, MIG, TIG) to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Install wear plates, replace liners, and reinforce structures as required.
• Execute maintenance and shutdown tasks according to schedules and job cards.
• Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for fabrication and repair work.
• Follow engineering drawings, specifications, and site standards during fabrication activities.
• Complete timesheets, job cards, service reports, and maintenance documentation accurately.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) and N3 relevant to Trade.
• Red Seal Trade Test Certificate (Boilermaker).
• 3‑5 years post‑trade experience in mining, quarrying, or heavy industrial environments.
• Valid driver’s licence where operationally required.
• Medical fitness as per the Mine Health & Safety Act.
