GCC Engineer

About the role

Afrimat Industries is seeking a GCC Engineer with at least five years of experience in mining or heavy‑industry maintenance to lead engineering and maintenance activities at its Tswana Lime Quarry and Lovedale siding in Lichtenburg.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all engineering and maintenance activities at the Tswana Lime Quarry and Lovedale siding.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to maximise plant reliability and availability.
• Manage preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programmes.
• Lead shutdowns, major repairs, and capital projects.
• Manage maintenance budgets, resources, contractors, and engineering personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, efficiency, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and company requirements.
• Work closely with production teams to achieve operational targets.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance management within a heavy industrial or mining environment.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of safety, statutory and engineering compliance requirements.
• Dedicated, ethical, professional and results‑driven attitude.

Required skills

• GCC (Mining) certification.
• Maintenance planning and asset management.
• Shutdown management and reliability improvement.
• Experience with cement plant equipment (advantageous).
