Senior Architect – 2IC to Director (Sandton, Johannesburg)

About the role

An established architectural practice in Sandton is looking for a Professional Senior Architect to act as the second‑in‑command to the Director. The role combines hands‑on design work with leadership of project teams, ensuring delivery from concept through to construction documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate directly with the Director on all projects, providing senior architectural and operational support.
• Lead, motivate and manage architectural teams to meet productivity and quality targets.
• Oversee projects from design development through technical documentation and final delivery.
• Drive design development, coordination and production processes.
• Manage project programmes, resources, deadlines and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Professional Architect registered with SACAP.
• Extensive experience as a Senior Architect or Principal Project Architect.
• Strong project leadership, team management and organisational abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit.
• Excellent technical documentation and construction detailing experience.

What we offer

• Salary range: R70,000 – R100,000 CTC per month (depending on experience).
