Security Solutions Architect

About the role

Discovery is looking for a Security Solutions Architect to lead the design and governance of secure cloud environments across the organisation. The role focuses on Google Cloud Platform as the strategic cloud, while also covering AWS, Azure and hybrid on‑premises landscapes. You will act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring security is embedded by design in all cloud initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define, own and evolve cloud security architecture standards and reference designs.
• Design and review secure landing zones for GCP, AWS and Azure, incorporating identity‑driven security and risk‑based access controls.
• Establish enterprise cloud security baselines aligned with ISO 27001, NIST CSF and CIS Benchmarks.
• Guide Zero Trust architectures, security monitoring patterns and privileged access management.
• Provide architectural oversight for DevSecOps pipelines and secure software supply chains, including secure CI/CD patterns.
• Act as design architect for GCP security solutions, ensuring scalability, consistency and risk alignment.
• Engage hands‑on to validate designs, assess risks and support secure implementation where needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing and governing cloud security architectures in large enterprises.
• Deep understanding of GCP, AWS and Azure security services and best practices.
• Strong knowledge of information security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF and CIS Benchmarks.
• Experience implementing Zero Trust principles and identity‑centric security models.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to technical and business teams.
