Security Controller – Talent Pool (KZN)

About the role

Dis‑Chem Pharmacies are seeking a Security Controller to lead on‑site security operations in the KZN region. The role focuses on real‑time incident response, loss‑prevention management and coordination with an off‑site CCTV monitoring centre.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day security activities and ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards.
• Monitor high‑risk stock areas, investigate theft, damage or tampering, and enforce loss‑prevention procedures.
• Liaise with the off‑site CCTV control centre for footage requests, incident verification and evidence retrieval.
• Respond promptly to alerts, conduct opening and closing checks, and maintain a visible presence at the assigned post.
• Prepare incident reports, statements and evidence for potential courtroom proceedings.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric with B or A accreditation.
• PSIRA registration and minimum two years of retail security experience in a shopping‑mall environment.
• Familiarity with POPIA regulations and handling of personal data.
• Basic first‑aid certification and knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are advantageous.

Required skills
