Sales Trainer - Pharmacy Training

About the role

Austell Pharmaceuticals is looking for a qualified and experienced Sales Trainer for its Medical & Training team, based in Parktown. The trainer develops and delivers product knowledge training to Brand Ambassadors and Sales Representatives working in retail pharmacies, simplifying complex pharmaceutical information, assessing employee competency and giving practical coaching so that product knowledge and industry compliance are accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver product knowledge training, including onboarding and refresher sessions
• Simplify complex pharmaceutical and medical information into clear, practical training content
• Prepare and maintain accurate, engaging training materials
• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate product knowledge and competency
• Identify knowledge gaps and provide targeted coaching and development support
• Conduct field visits to assess product knowledge application and give practical training
• Engage with pharmacists and pharmacy staff to provide accurate product information
• Maintain training records, assessment results and employee progress reports
• Monitor training effectiveness and implement continuous improvements
• Ensure training content complies with pharmaceutical regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Sales Management to align training with business objectives

Required profile

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree
• Registered Pharmacist
• Minimum 2 years' experience in retail pharmacy or the pharmaceutical industry
• Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle
• Willingness to travel within South Africa for training and field visits
• Flexibility to work additional hours when required
