SAIPA Article Clerk Trainee – Accounting & Finance

About the role

Our accounting firm in Roodepoort is looking for a motivated SAIPA Article Clerk trainee. You will complete a three‑year articles contract while gaining hands‑on experience across accounting, auditing, taxation and financial reporting, in line with SAIPA training requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial statements.
• Perform bookkeeping, transaction capture and reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and support other tax submissions.
• Assist with income tax calculations and provisional tax returns.
• Support audit engagements, including audit file preparation.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Help with payroll processing and statutory submissions.
• Carry out general accounting and administrative duties.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree or equivalent (completed or in progress).
• Registered or eligible to register for SAIPA articles.
• Strong numerical, analytical and accuracy skills.
• Good communication, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (advantageous).

What we offer

• Fixed‑term 3‑year contract with full SAIPA training programme.
• Salary range R7,500 – R9,500 per month.
• Fuel allowance (reimbursed) – own car and driver’s licence required.
• Working hours 08:00 – 15:30, lunch at end of day.
