SAICA Trainee – Accounting & Tax Support

About the role

This SAICA Trainee position offers a hands‑on introduction to accounting and tax compliance within a professional services environment in Pretoria. You will work closely with senior accountants and audit managers, gaining practical experience while supporting a range of client engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations, financial analysis and routine general accounting tasks.
• Assist with tax compliance, including VAT, PAYE and Income Tax submissions.
• Support senior staff on audit and client projects, preparing documentation and schedules.
• Maintain accurate timesheets and records in line with SAICA requirements.
• Complete mandatory SAICA competencies and training assessments.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) qualification.
• Completed a SAICA‑accredited BCom Accounting degree.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable personal transport.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Eagerness to learn and develop within the Chartered Accountant profession.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
