Retail Media Key Account Manager – Food

About the role

Mr D, a division of the Takealot.com Group, is seeking a Retail Media Key Account Manager focused on the food sector. You will act as the main liaison between advertisers, internal teams and the Mr D Advertising department, driving strategic advertising initiatives for national restaurant brands.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present advertising proposals that align with client strategic objectives.
• Generate campaign cost estimates, manage invoicing, and ensure financial accuracy.
• Produce regular performance reports, analyse data trends and deliver actionable insights to advertisers.
• Collaborate with creative, analytics and campaign management teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Achieve and exceed advertising revenue targets while identifying opportunities to improve advertiser experience.
• Build and maintain long‑term partnerships with key national restaurant brands.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for an entrepreneurial, start‑up environment and ability to work independently.
• Proven success in managing client relationships and delivering results.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
• Track record of cross‑department collaboration to ensure campaign alignment.
• Familiarity with digital marketing trends, best practices and emerging technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or Media, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of advertising account management experience (or 3 years digital account management plus additional experience).
