Retail Category Planner

About the role

DotActiv provides category management software and advisory services to the South African retail market. As a Category Planner you will use its category planning software to create strategic plans and data-driven layouts for retail clients. The role suits someone pursuing a career in retail or who values strategic planning, problem solving and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Create strategic assortment plans
• Design data-driven floor space plans and build data-driven shelf plans
• Analyse floor and space plans
• Develop optimised cluster plans per product category using the clusteroptimizer and maintenance tools in the DotActiv software
• Analyse cluster plans and profile each cluster to give clients strategic insights
• Maximise customer and category performance by considering category strategy, product financial performance, shopper psychology and aesthetic appeal
• Support, advise and guide retail customers where required

Required profile

• 2+ years of similar and relevant experience in the retail sector
• Degree in Consumer Science, Business/Marketing or Supply Chain
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English)
• Team player with strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Self-motivated, results oriented, with strong analytical skills and ability to use data analysis techniques
• High capacity to represent the DotActiv brand and engage internally with clients
• Driver's licence and own transport
